Poprad Restoration - The beginning
I've officially begun my winter bike project - restoring a 2001 Lemond Poprad cyclocross bike. Thom Kneeland kindly donated a frame he'd had sitting in his garage for a while, happy to get it out of his way.
The photo to the right is what I'm starting with. Partly sanded, obviously in need of a paint job. Should be a lot of fun!
My end goal is to arrive at a nice single speed cyclocross bike. Since I love to ride my fixed gear bike on the road, I've really wanted to add a single speed to my arsenal. I will probably make this my pit bike in the geared 'cross races, too. Why not?
Pictured at right is the only photo I could find of a 59cm 2001 Lemond Poprad. This isn't stock, but it's a good idea of what it used to look like in it's former life.
Hopefully, when I'm done, it's going to look just as nice, if not better. Hopefully.
More to come on this...much more.
