Sad day for bike racers in PDX

Sad news today after one of our own passed away right after finishing the Tuesday night PIR.

Crossed the line, coasted, collapsed, passed away.

I wish I'd known him better.  I'm sad for his friends and his family. 

I know we're not machines, but sometimes I pretend to forget.  I've pushed myself so hard that I fought to stay conscious for half a minute.  Is this what happened to him?  Except he didn't recover. 

What a bummer.  Very tragic news here in Portland.

Rest in peace, brother.

Heavy week.

I would agree, on the bike there isn't a much better way to go.

I Will be thinking about all you out there and esp those who were there at that moment. Never easy.

That is brutal. I guess the only positve out of all this is that he left this
world doing what he loved. Prayers go out to his family.
