Krugers Kermesse

I hit the Kruger's dirt crit today.  It was very hot out there.  Hot and dusty.

Couple mechanicals made things difficult.  First lap, I hit a big hole and the bump resulted in my left hand brake lever moving down the bar about one centimeter.  This in turn applied the front brakes, which was not fun.  Hearing your front wheel skid while riding over the bumps is not a pleasant sound.  I eventually figured out what happened and wiggled the lever back up.  I moved back a ways, but made it to the front again.  I even rode the front for a bit to try and shake things up.

A few laps in, I hit a rock or something and got a flat tire.  Since I rode to the race, I didn't have anything in the pits.  Too bad, because I rolled into the pit with air still hissing out the tire.  Oh well.

My family came to watch, which was cool.  To bad I didn't give them much of a show.
