Cyclocross is going to hurt

Way back July, I went running for the first time of the season. But I got busy and have only been out a few times since then. Now we're three weeks away and I'm in perhaps the worst shape of the year, and I have no running in my legs.

I just went out today for a very slow, painful run. I will keep doing this for a couple weeks, then bring it up a bit for the last week before cross starts. Maybe I'll be good to go midway into the season.

So here it is - I hereby declare I am now running. If you see me out on the road, please do not laugh in my view. Wait until you get around the corner or something. You will be able to tell it's me by un-natural, flailing movements I'm making.

Right now, there is no Chariots of Fire song playing in my head as I run. No, today I think it was 16 tons.

Wish me luck. It's nice to worry about something so trivial for a change.
